At Spaces for Hope Foundation, we believe that a home should be more than just four walls—it should be a sanctuary of comfort, hope, and dignity. Founded with a mission to serve low-income individuals and families in Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area, we specialize in transforming under-resourced living spaces into functional, welcoming environments.
Our work goes beyond design; it’s about restoring hope and empowering lives. By combining thoughtful interior styling, repurposed furniture donations, and culturally inclusive decor, we aim to create spaces where individuals can thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Spaces for Hope Foundation was born from a place of compassion, Faith and a deep understanding of the transformative power of a welcoming, well-designed home. Our founder, Kate Adah, has a professional background in interior design and real estate and a personal passion for creating environments that foster comfort, functionality, and peace of mind.
Through her career, Kate witnessed how a thoughtfully designed space could positively affect mental health, providing individuals and families with a sense of stability, pride, and hope. She also saw the disparities faced by low-income families and vulnerable individuals who often lack access to these benefits, living in spaces that do not reflect their worth or support their well-being.
Motivated by these experiences, Kate founded Spaces for Hope to bridge this gap, combining her expertise in interior design with her desire to uplift others. Starting with small projects in her community, she began transforming spaces for families in need—one home at a time.
Since then, Spaces for Hope has grown into a dedicated foundation serving Hamilton and the GTA, touching the lives of countless individuals through the power of compassionate design. For Kate Adah, this is more than a career—it’s a mission to bring dignity, Faith, hope, and healing to those who need it most.
Our core values guide every aspect of our work:

We transform living spaces to be functional, inviting, and culturally meaningful. From rearranging existing furniture to adding donated items and thoughtful decor, we work closely with each client to create a space that reflects their personality and supports their well-being.
Whether it’s a living room that finally feels like a place to relax, a kitchen that becomes a hub for family meals, or a bedroom that provides peace and comfort, every detail is tailored to meet the needs of the household.
We believe that every piece of furniture has the potential to bring joy and utility to someone in need. That’s why we collect gently used furniture and decor items, restoring and repurposing them for families who lack the resources to furnish their homes.
Our team handles everything—from pick-up and storage to delivery and placement—so families don’t have to worry about a thing. Thanks to generous donors and community partnerships, we’re able to provide these items free of charge, turning empty spaces into places of comfort and pride.
In addition to transforming homes, we empower individuals with skills to maintain functional and organized spaces. Through workshops, we teach practical tips on decluttering, space optimization, and decorating on a budget.
These workshops are not just about design—they’re about building confidence, independence, and a deeper sense of ownership over their homes.
At Spaces for Hope Foundation, we believe that every transformation, no matter how small, has the power to create ripple effects of hope and dignity. While we are a new organization, we’re proud to have already transformed one home, giving a family a fresh start in a space designed to inspire comfort and healing.
This is just the beginning. With the support of generous donors, compassionate volunteers, and community partnerships, we’re committed to expanding our reach and impacting more lives in Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Here’s what we’re striving to achieve in the next year:
We know these numbers are ambitious, but with your help, we can make them a reality. Together, we can grow from our small beginnings into a powerful force for change, creating spaces that uplift lives and bring hope to those who need it most.
